If something doesn't change within Pakistan, and I mean soon, Americans better wake up and smell the poppies. If not, they'd better get used to it because it may very well be the next agricultural giant of the world. Even more frightening, is it will be run by the war lords of al-Qaeada, and it's leader, Bin Laden.

Rick, I couldn't agree with you more. As I listened to his speech at the '04 DNC Convention, I knew Obama would try to make a run for President in '08. His address spoke volumes regarding his lack of experience, and they still do. Sure, he could have potential after serving the public for several years in Illinois, but he is far from it now.
As you put it, nobody knows who this man behind the curtain truly represents. What are his plans for the United States? What about global relations? Homeland Security? Social Security? He sure does talk a lot, but has very little to say. This does not make a Commander In Chief, this makes a lobbyist. Yet nobody knows what he is lobbying for.

Rick, Anyone who believes that Bill Clinton will just sit back as his wife is the Commander In Chief is living under a rock. Bill's schedule wont be filled with photo-ops of him reading books to 3rd grade classrooms, holding boxes of Girl Scout Cookies with a local Troop, hosting teas/luncheons for Womens groups. I just can't picture him doing things feminine or fuzzy like that.
If Bill Clinton were First Man, he will be front and center on all levels of the Oval Office. As you said, this can have it's pluses and minuses. I don't know if we'll ever get the chance to see what it would be like. For me, I don't feel too good about it. But hey, that's just me.

This is truly a sad day for the GOP and all of us who had such high hopes for Fred. Folks have been asking me (not that I hold overwhelming influence)what they should do now. I wish I could jump up and have a concise answer, but I don't. I am faced with the task of having to choose second best which is resoundingly obvious in my posture.
At this point, I am focusing on local elections which can have an impact on the Congress. At least that is something here in Illinois.

Rick, We agree on most things this is just one thing we disagree.
History must be taken into context as it occurs. While MLK's speech was indeed one of the most "influential" oratories, I do not believe it should be considered within the order of "political" speeches. After all, MLK's did not hold a political seat. Rather, it was the delivering an African American expressing utilizing his of "Freedom of Speech". Yes, it changed the course of equality and it changed the course racism.
However, be not mistaken, had it not been for The Gettysburg Address, this equalality of freedom would have never been given. Abraham Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address" should be first on this list. Lincoln gave this speech in the midst of the American Civil War wherein 60,000 lives were lost in order to give MLK the ability to speak as he did some decades later.
Please don't put the cart before the horse. Doing so is an abomination to the Union of the United States, and the American Civil War. It demeans the lives of those who continue to fight for America's civility.
Political speeches differ greatly from Freedom speeches.

Some folks just don't understand that Yankees still do not like southern folks. It's not about race, it's about values. I have not lost faith in Thompson and wont. He has all that a conservative GOP candidate that I and so many others hope for. Go Fred!!!

Let's just say it like it is.. Reid is a jackass! If I had my way every American would be sending letters to Congress for the resignation of Reid and we would get our way! I am a Grass Roots Leader in Illinois for the GOP. Take notice of this, liberals, we are standing back waiting for all of you libs to stick your foot in your mouths which has happened before and you lost your prime candidate. The mudslinging within the Democratic party should be humiliating.
Conservatives know when to shut up, wait, watch and strike. We do this for a reason. The DNC, on the other hand, launches attacks with no solutions and then fights among themselves. Meanwhile, with dignity, we GOP's stand back and laugh.
Newt Gingrich? It is my belief he has a real strategy. The GOP Grass Roots Party understand it. Newt gets it. When will the libs and the DNC? Hillary has made an ass out of herself, Obama (who I happen to live within his State) is just a babe in the woods with zero foreign policy experience, who else do they have? Nobody. Oh maybe Gore? I think not!
Newt Gingrich is a highly respected individual that crosses party lines, gender lines, economic lines, race lines and every line in between.
